Is there anything more annoying than going for a power walk with a child on a tricycle who has suddenly decided, 5 minutes into the walk, that she can’t pedal any further?
Asking for a friend...
This hack came to me one day out of the blue. It was likely divine intervention to keep me from losing my mind with my bike challenged four year old. I had stumbled across two extra shoelaces from a new pair of shoes I had purchased. I wondered if I should put it in my overflowing craft box or throw it out. Suddenly it dawned on me that this would be the perfect solution to an increasingly annoying and back breaking problem I had been having.
My daughter was painstakingly slow on her pedal bike. She has refused to try the run bike, and it had been major progress getting her on one with pedals....but she tired so easily. Which means half way through a walk, I end up pushing her, or carrying her bike, or carrying her and her bike. oy!
So, this hack was a wonderful fix. I simply tied both strings together and I tied the end of each of those strings onto one side of her handlebars. This light weight solution is easily rolled up into the bars when it’s not needed and is the perfect height to continue my walk while pulling the bike along behind me. Even if she isn’t on the bike, it means I don’t have to carry it!
